San Francisco Criminal Defense Attorney

Ahmed S. Hasan, Criminal Defense Attorney

No associates. No "intake team." From the first phone call through resolution — same lawyer, every step.

ASH LEGAL ASH SAN FRANCISCO EST. 2025

Their case. Your defense. My job.

An arrest threatens more than your freedom. Your job. Your housing. Your record. Your immigration status. Your family. Defending all of that — not just the charge — is the job.

I’m Ahmed Hasan. ASH Legal is my criminal defense practice in San Francisco. When you hire me, I’m the one reading your discovery, calling the prosecutor, filing your motions, and standing beside you at every court appearance. Not an associate. Not a paralegal. Me.

ASH Legal handles misdemeanor defense — DUI, domestic violence, theft, drug possession, vandalism, assault and battery, and the expungement and sealing work that comes after. The cases that quietly ruin records, jobs, and visas if they go sideways. The cases that matter most to people who otherwise live ordinary lives.

You will reach me, not a receptionist. You will get an answer when you call. The hardest part of being charged with a crime is the silence — the not knowing what is happening to your case. That is what I fix first.

You deserve a defense built for your case — not a template, not an associate’s first try. One attorney. One fee. One client at a time.

— Ahmed Saif Hasan

APPROACH
The Approach

"I prepare.
I negotiate.
I litigate."

Prepare.

I don't take the police report at face value. Every case gets read line by line — body camera footage, dispatch logs, breath test calibration records, every search every detention every word the officer wrote. Most cases turn on a detail nobody bothered to look at twice. I look twice.

Negotiate.

Most cases shouldn't go to trial — and they shouldn't have to. A prosecutor who knows I've read the discovery and knows I'm ready to fight is a prosecutor who offers diversion, civil compromise, or dismissal. Preparation is leverage.

Litigate.

When the prosecution won't offer a reasonable resolution, I litigate. Motions to suppress. Motions to dismiss. Jury trials. The willingness to take a case to trial is what makes the negotiation work in the first place.

"Most cases turn on details no one else bothered to look at."

Transparent Pricing

Why flat fee.

Hourly billing punishes you for asking questions. Every phone call, every text, every "should I be worried about this?" becomes a line item on a future invoice. Clients stop calling. Cases get worse.

Flat fee means you can pick up the phone without watching a meter. One fee covers thorough case preparation, every pre-trial appearance, motions, negotiation, all the way through resolution. Misdemeanor representation starts at $2,800. DUI defense at $5,000. Numbers get talked through up front. No surprises.

If your case is one I can't take — too complex, conflict, outside my practice area — I'll tell you on the first call and refer you to someone who can. Wasting your money isn't a business model.
